The city has been designated an "eco-municipality" by the Swedish organization The Natural Step (www.naturalstep.com), meaning that they will develop and implement their comprehensive plan according to established principles enabling the sustainable balance of economic, social, and environmental interests. Ms. Rehwald was instrumental in establishing the plan and will speak about the plan generally, as well as about the successful public participation component of the plan's development process.
